The Power of Words

Based on the video from you tube.

Words have a tremendous impact on us. Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or evil. The basic tool for the manipulation of truth is the manipulation of words. If one can control the meaning of words, one can control the people who use those words. Likewise, the basic tool for the preservation of truth is the preservation of God's words. If one understands the original meaning of God's words, we can more easily recognize those who try to manipulate and control others through deception and the altering of the original definitions of words.

Words have been re-defined. But upon closer examination, we find another astonishing truth. What has been done is that we have adopted the words of the world to describe us, instead of using the words of Christ to define us. Some claim that the words we speak aren’t that important. But if it’s not important, why does scripture prohibit "vain babblings" (1 Timothy 6:20, 2 Timothy 2:16), "evil communications" (1 Corinthians 15:33), and "filthy communication out of your mouth" (Colossians 3:8)?
Proverbs 12:18, "...the tongue of the wise is health."
As in the health of the body, a doctor can often assess our state of health by looking at our tongues; so too in the spiritual realm. James tells us that the way a man uses his tongue is a test of his spiritual strength (James 1:26). He also says that if a man can control his tongue he is a perfect man (James 3:2). Jeremiah was told by the Lord that he could be God's mouthpiece only if he was careful about the way he used his tongue - if he separated the precious from the vile in his conversation (Jeremiah 15:19). Therefore, we should be very careful about the words that we choose to speak.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
It is so very important, as the above passage states, to not speak the words that we have been conditioned to speak by the spirit of the world (by what man's wisdom has taught us); but to speak the words which the Holy Spirit has taught us (to speak in a spiritual manner). These words are contained in the Holy Scripture, which are for our "doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).

A Story of a Lonely Soldier

There's a lonely soldier sat upon the huge rock with M16 in his hand. He could hear the artillery in the distance, and all around him, he could see the signs of war. His heart tremble and full of worry.

He remembered dragging two of his comrades to shelter. Without regard for himself, he remembered crying out to Jesus to please save his friends.

He remembered being hit during that struggle, yet he felt no pain. He thanked God. Not for not feeling pain, but that he was to help save his two friends. He remembered the medics right there to help them.

He remembered much more, too. He remembered sitting on a bridge, dangling a worm in the water with his bamboo pole and being delighted when a fish would nibble at the bait.

He remembered the Caramel Sundae and  fried potatoes with gravy from McDonalds. Surely, they had to be the best in the county! It's his favorite food to eat.

He remember Princess, Oh,  his loving sister thatt he always cuddled it and play for her in thier backyards.

With more sadness, he remembered His Special Someone. Oh, the walks they would take, and the talks they would talk. He was sweet on her, and there was no doubt for anyone. She used to even sit with him, happily. More than once, she'd come to a snacks and couldn't get enough of that, sundae, fried potatoes and gravy.

Another shell burst overhead, and with tears in his eyes over the remembrance, the man looked up. It was like a rainbow of color. He thought, "Isn't a rainbow supposed to mean something?"

At that moment, an old Sergeant walked up. It was clear that he'd been through too many battles, and he wore the sadness in the wrinkles on his cheeks. Yet, when he spoke, his words were soft, comforting, and calm.

"It is time to go, my son," he said, scarcely above a whisper, yet seeming to drown out the sound of the artillery fire.

"Go where, Sergeant?" the man asked as he struggled to his feet.

"Trust in me," the Sergeant said, leading the way.

The soldier did as he was ordered, and was quickly amazed as the sounds of combat faded, and the night gave way to brightness. It was more than brightness.

By the time the sound of fighting was left in the past, there were butterflies and flowers. All was incredibly beautiful.

Abruptly, the Sergeant stopped and turned to the soldier, in the middle of a beautiful clearing.

"From now on, this will be your home," the Sergeant said.

"With respect sir, what about the men? What about the fight?" the young man asked. The Sergeant smiled, and it seemed to make the wrinkles disappear.

"Some of your friends will be joining you soon. Others will join later. But your fight is over, and you won the biggest fight of all!"

The man could only look at the Sergeant. Then the Sergeant held out a hand and said, "Behold, our general."

The man turned, and what he saw, caused him to drop to his knees, as up strode Jesus, the Christ.

Jesus got on his knees to look at the man in his eyes, rather than asking him to arise.

"Your battle was a victory and a loss, my child. Your body didn't survive it, but your comrades did, thanks to you. My father has said that he who believes in me shall not perish, but will have everlasting life. I personally thank you for helping God's children."

With that, Jesus arose, turned, and strode away from the awe stricken soldier. The Sergeant was right there to help him to his feet, and began guiding him to one side of the glade.

"Where are you taking me, Sergeant?" the man asked, being in the presence of the lord.

"Please call me by my name, Gabrielle. And you will see soon enough," the sergeant said.

On the edge of the meadow was a little stream, and on the banks, waiting, was Princess! Beside her was his favorite pole bolo he'd used for so many years. His teardrops fell without shame as he rushed to her, clutched her to his chest, and at last, he knew that he was really home.

The story comes from the author's imagination. Hope you like it

Sample Website Banner

Intro

In this tutorial, I'll teach you how to design  a website header in Adobe Photoshop. I'll use Layer Styles, Shape layers, brushes and a host of other expert techniques to create a slick, modern website header which has more than a nod towards the Web 2.0 style of design. Without further ado, then, here's what we're going to create:

As you can see, this has quite a lot of detail, which means that each element has multiple Photoshop techniques applied to it. In just the logo area for instance, I've used the Type tool, Layer Styles and Shape layers.

Step 1. The Background

Let's start by creating a new Photoshop file. Open Photoshop and create a new file that's 770pixels wide by 180px high. Make sure the resolution is set to 72 dpi.
For our basic grey background I'll need two components:
  1. A Shape layer with a Gradient Overlay effect applied
  2. A layer with a Pattern Overlay applied
Start by selecting the Rectangle tool and dragging out a rectangle to fill our empty document.

Tip:

Make sure the "Shape Layers" option is highlighted in the toolbar.

Next, go to the Layers palette and click on the "Add a Layer Style" icon at the bottom. Choose "Gradient Overlay" from the popup list. In the Layer Styles window, create a new gradient from black to grey (I used a hex value of 545454). It should look something like this:

Now I'm going to create a diagonal tiling background pattern. Create a new Photoshop document of 4px square. Zoom right in, and using the Line Tool, create a white diagonal line going from the top right corner to the bottom left. Hold down Shift as you draw to constrain it to 45 degrees. Double click on the background layer and hit OK to make the Background layer into a normal bitmap layer. Now turn that layer's visibility off in the Layers palette. The document should look a little like this:

Choose Select > All from the menu and then go to Edit > Define Pattern. Choose an appropriate name if you like. Now head back to the original header document.

Create a new layer above the rectangle with the gradient and fill it with black. Double-click it to bring up the Layer styles and go to Pattern Overlay. Your new pattern should be in the drop-down list of patterns. Select it and you should see your pattern in place in the document. Click OK, and the adjust the layer's opacity to around 5%, or whatever you think best. This has the effect of reducing the effect of the pattern to "just about visible" levels.

So now we have a nice basis for our header. The gradient and pattern serve as a backdrop for what comes on top. The pattern especially will really emphasize the effect of reduced opacity of any layer above it, and the gradient is practically essential in current web design thinking!

Step 2. Adding logo.

I'll be creating a header called "Army is Greener", so select the Type tool click on the image and type it out. In our example here I've used all lowercase, with no spaces to keep the modern feel. I've used Arial Bold at 48pt. I've also pulled in the Tracking to -50 to tighten the space between the letterforms a touch. For the colour I've chosen a really vivid yellow/green of d0e113.

To differentiate the "is" in the middle of the logo so it's readable, I'm going to select just those two letters using the Type tool and make them white (choosing the colour either from the Options bar or the Character palette).

I'll give the logo just a hint of a glow to make it "breathe" a little on the page. Click on the "Add a Layer Style" icon at the bottom of the Layers palette and choose "Outer Glow". You want a smallish yellow glow with a Size setting of 5, at quite a low opacity, so set that to 25%. You can see the settings and their effect below:

I'll also add a tagline of "a sample website banner" to the logo. Again, use Arial Bold (or Helvetica Bold) with the Tracking set to -50. I've set the font size to 14pt and aligned it with the right of the logotype above. To add the same glow as we used in the previous step, go to the Layers palette, hold down Alt/Option and drag the layer style from the previous layer to our new tagline.

Lastly, I'll have a box framing the logo, which I'll create using a Shape layer. Select the Rounded Rectangle Tool and set the corner radius to 5px in the Options bar.

Click and drag to create the shape, until it's a little wider than the logo, with about 15-20px of clear space in all directions. If it's sitting on top of the logo, drag it down in the layers palette so that it sits beneath both the logotype and the tagline. I want to position it off the top of the image, so using the Move tool just drag it off the top a little to lose the top rounded corners. You could also use the shape editing tools to re-shape the top of the box, but it's a waste of time in this instance.

For positioning, I'll put the edge of the box 20px in from the edge of the image, and set the text 20px down from the top. Really I should align the top of the main text body (the "waistline" in typo-speak) at 20px down, but that feels too high, so in the end I think instead that pushing the top of the dot of the "i" 20px down suffices.

Now, we'll use our "dragging Layer Styles" trick to drag the Gradient Overlay from the background to the new box. So Alt-drag the Layer Style to that box in the Layers palette, and you'll see it take on the same gradient as the background. I want to see an illusion of transparency here, so I'll drop the opacity of the layer to around 36% to allow the lines in the background to be visible.

Finally, double-click the layer to bring up the Layer Styles window, and now we'll add just a tiny Bevel and Emboss effect to make the box "sit into" the background a touch. The settings for this are in the screenshot below.

Step 3. The grass.

Now comes the fun bit - drawing the grass. Note that we're not after photo-realistic grass here; just the suggestion of grass. I want a very stylized version, and I'll build it up using three of layers of brushes and gradients.

To start, create a new layer in the Layers palette by clicking the "Create a new Layer" icon at the bottom of the palette. This is going to be my "background" grass, which will be quite a dark green. Changing the colours for each layer adds depth to the image. I'm going to choose 667e04.

To create the grass, I'll use a brush. Click on the Brush tool, and from the Brushes palette, find the Grass preset. It's a little big as it stands, so drop the size to around 45px. Your Brushes palette should look a little like this (Note I've turned off the Color Dynamics since I just want a solid colour at this stage):

Now I'll "paint" with the brush to create a grassy border around 50px high at the bottom of the image.

I'm going to add another layer of grass above the first, but this time using the light yellow/green colour from the logo (chosen to add consistency). Use the Eyedropper tool to select it by clicking on the green in the logo, and reselect the Brush tool. Just brush it on as before to create a "highlight" layer.

Lastly, I'll add a bit of a glow to the whole thing which just livens it up a little. Create a new layer above the previous two and select the Gradient tool from the Tools. If you followed the last step, you should have the light green from the logo as your foreground colour, but we want that to fade to transparent rather than another colour. In the Options bar, open the Gradient Picker and choose "Foreground to Transparent", as below.

I'll click at the bottom of the image and drag upwards until it's just past the top of the grass, where I'll release it. That effect's too much, but now I'll drop the Opacity of the layer to around 60% to soften the effect.

Finally, I'll add a bigger grass stem in the background that will show through the translucency of the search box. This should really emphasize the depth in the image. On a new layer, I'll use a bigger version of the grass brush we used previously. This time it will be around 230px in size, and use a dark grey colour. I'll choose #282828 for this; not quite black as we want a slightly softer effect than the black would give us.

Drag the new grass layer in the Layers palette to just above the lines in the background, and add a couple of touches of the bigger grass to the layer so that it sits behind the search box. Try changing the size slightly between each dab of the brush to add more variety.

And that, as they say, is that! The final image should look something like this:

Get a feel for what it looks like with different alignments, composition and colours to see how the various elements fit together, and play with those Layer Styles to get a feel for how they can affect the perception of depth and tone. Above all, have fun!

Cyber Love

My love start in Facebook, I’m sure many of you didn’t think that cyber love can become reality right? Well my LOVE actually does come true and it all starts in Facebook.

When he adds me as a friend in Facebook, I think “Who is this guy?” then I approved him, not knowing who he was. I start to look at his wall and his pictures. I smile alone and I don’t know what the reason was. Then one day he tagged me in one of his picture.  I thought, “Why is he tagging me?” Then I ignore the thought, thinking that it is just tagging, nothing special. We start commenting on his friend’s wall and we chat. Things go on as usual, as he did not online often.

One day, I tag my picture to him and other friends, and we started commenting. His friend is my son in virtual life (Facebook only), then in one of his comment, he said can I be the Daddy as I said that my virtual son does not have a virtual Daddy, then I said “yeah sure”, but my virtual son said he wants another dad. Funny comments I thought, smiling to myself.

During father’s day, I send him message saying happy father’s day. I think it is cute (smile), and in June 30 he give me his phone number and we start text messaging, it was fun texting with him, I feel happy and feel I want to spend more time with him. As times goes by, we text messaging and calling only, that’s our routine (LOL). He wants to see me before he leave but I got class on that day. He said he wants to take care of me, he wants to be my Boyfriend but I ask him time before I decided and he agreed.

2138 at 8th July 2010. I finally make my decision, I agreed to be his girlfriend and he was really happy, although we never met each other before but my soul telling me that he is the one. Our relationship runs smoothly, my friend said “Aren’t you afraid that the love you shared with him will vanish tomorrow (11th Dec 2010)” I’m afraid that her words will come true but my feelings strengthen my heart and I pray so that everything will be fine and our love will remain the same when we meet at 11th Dec 2010. Yeah it’s true when I meet him, my heart pounding fast although I never meet him before my heart could tell to whom they belongs. I am so happy until now our relationship grew stronger and stronger although distance kept us apart but our Love remains.

Love the Perfection of His Imperfection

One day, a wife came to her husband with a magazine in her hand, "Darling, this article is wonderful. It describes a little activity that we can both do to improve our marriage. Can we do it together?"
           "Sure," her husband said.
"It says here that for one day, each of us will separately write a list of what areas we want each other to change in Little annoyances, little irritations, etc. And then tomorrow, we share this list to each other. Deal?"
            "Deal!" the husband smiled.
That day, the man sat in living room with paper and hand. the wife went to the bedroom and did the same thing.
The next day, over breakfast, the wife said, "Game? Can I start first?"
             "Yes," the husband said.
The wife pulled out three pages. Single spaced. Font size 8. It was a long list. She began to read her list. "Darling, I don't like it when you do this..." On and on, she read the little ways her husbands annoyed her."
The man felt a sting in his heart. The wife noticed this and asked, "Do you want me to continue?"
"I can handle it. go on," the man said.
So the wife continued to read.
Finally, the women said, "OK, it's your turn."
The husband pulled out his piece of paper and said, "Yesterday, I asked the question what are the changes I want in you. But hard as I tried to think, I could'nt think of one thing." He then showed her the empty peice of paper in his hand. "Because to me, you're perfect in your imperfections. I've accepted who you are-- strengths and weaknesses. And I love the whole package. I love the mix. You are a wonderful person and I love you so much."
The wife began to sob, rolled up the three pages in her hands, and beat her husband on the head, "Bwiset ka!" And hugged him tight for a very long time.

Keep Dreaming Big Dreams

Every one of us had experienced childhood- and we all have dreams – either its big or small. Unfortunately, too many of us keep these dreams to ourselves because we fear what others might say. My point in writing this is to say it's OK to dream and dream big and talk about your dreams so that others are inspired to dream big too. What a world we would have if everyone did this! It’s nice right?

I was a dreamer. I always told my parents that I will always get a medal after graduation. One day, I told my brothers to get my old medals on the wall. So we were having fun practicing pinning medals in our chest, and start laughing as it was our last laugh in our entire life. I ask my brothers about there dream, and the second answered “A HOUSE and LOT!” one also replied a “BRAND NEW CAR”. At that young age, I teach them how to dream BIG dreams. So then, my dreams fulfilled when I graduated my college education. I brought home not only one medal or two but four. In my heart content, I had no other  feelings but fulfillment. At that day, my parents and siblings were so proud of me. Now they were inspired to dream big too.

You see dreams can do wonders for you. When you believe in yourdr eams, they take on a life of their own. Now you start dreaming up things to do to make your inspiration a reality. More dreams, more inspiration, then more dreams and a few more. Then one morning you wake up and the dream has come true.
Matabungkay Beach in Batangas
My dreams have taken me to so many beautiful places; I've been below the surface of the ocean watching the beauty of coral and fish as I dive by. I've been in so many places, that I’ve dream to, like the cold fresh air of Baguio, the SHRINE in Tarlac where our great grandparents gave their entire life for our country (esp. to Pvt Placido Segura) Mt Makiling of Calamba, the 7 Falls in Negros, and I’ve seen already and sit on the biggest chair of Ilagan named “BUTAKA” in Isabela.  The pictures in my head are priceless and better than any I've taken.

Strawberry Farm in Baguio

Municipality of Ilagan, Isabela
Some of the best times I've had were listening to older people talk about their dreams and what their dreams did for their lives. When I hear some of their dreams it inspires me to think and dream how I might do that too.

Just what I said earlier, to dream is free. And you must have to take an action to that dream for you to achieve. Dream big dreams about your great life to come. I’m heading out toward my next one, how about you?

All About Spyware

There are a lot of PC users that know little about "Spyware", "Mal-ware", "hijackers", "Dialers" & many more. This will help you avoid pop-ups, spammers and all those baddies.

What is spy-ware?
Spy-ware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Ad-ware). It is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by selling it to the users. There are several large media companies that offer them to place banner ads in their products in exchange for a portion of the revenue from banner sales. This way, you don't have to pay for the software and the developers are still getting paid. If you find the banners annoying, there is usually an option to remove them, by paying the regular licensing fee.

Known spywares
There are thousands out there, new ones are added to the list everyday. But here are a few:

Alexa, Aureate/Radiate, BargainBuddy, ClickTillUWin, Conducent Timesink, Cydoor, Comet Cursor, eZula/KaZaa Toptext, Flashpoint/Flashtrack, Flyswat, Gator, GoHip, Hotbar, ISTbar, Lions Pride Enterprises/Blazing Logic/Trek Blue, Lop (C2Media), Mattel Brodcast, Morpheus, NewDotNet, Realplayer, Songspy, Xupiter, Web3000, WebHancer, Windows Messenger Service.

How to check if a program has spyware?
The is this Little site that keeps a database of programs that are known to install spyware.

Check Here: http://www.spywareguide.com/product_search.php

If you would like to block pop-ups (IE Pop-ups).
There tons of different types out there, but these are the 2 best, i think.

Try: Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/) This program is Free
Try: AdMuncher (http://www.admuncher.com) This program is Shareware

If you want to remove the "spyware" try these.
Try: Lavasoft Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) This program is Free

What career I prefer to study in IT ?

I want to get int a career in IT but don't know which ones to study. I have been told A+, Network+ and then MCSA and then CCNA.

I see this question on forums a lot and do not agree with a lot of the advice I see given out. A+ is to repair PCs and the Net+ is ok for reading about basic networking concepts but the actual qualification isn't really worth much at all.

You should really start at the end result and work back. Many people end up studying for years doing Cisco, Microsoft, Unix, Linux etc and then wonder why they still can't get a job.

If you like desktop and server support look at Microsoft. If you prefer network side and enjoy command line, troubleshooting, security etc then you may prefer Cisco network engineeering.
I personally feel that it is a mistake to spend a long time building a foundation consisting of several vendor certs. You could well end up as a jack of all trades and master of none, being able to do a bit of everything but not able to actually complete a router install and configuration.

Think about what things you enjoy doing. If it is Cisco then study hard and do the CCENT or the CCNA. Immediatly start to look for network support roles when you are either close to passing or have passed. I would avoid helpdesk type roles if you want to go for network engineering unless you have no other options and want to get your foot in the door of a large company.

The advice I usually see on the forums is to take useless certs such as the A+ and then do desktop support for a year or two which I feel is very bad advice if what you really want to do is be a network engineer.

If you are really struggling to find work (and I don't mean quitting after 10 or so interviews) then look at doing freelance IT support or starting your own Cisco maintenance company. A CCNA should easily be able to do basic router installs, troubleshooting and backups.

3D Animation Programs: The Emerging Fads of Technology

We are in an era where technology has proven its worth to humanity and so we live in a global village, so to speak where breakthroughs have all began. Nowadays, computer animation industry has gone so much and has improved significantly from that of the conventional 2-dimensional image processing. It continues to further improve and offers modern solutions to everyone who has that interest in working with visual arts and images.

Today, 3D animation is emerging as a new and unique fad in the world of animation. It has further gotten the most out of animation designs by applying specialized capabilities in it. As grew from a possible substitute to the conventional graphic designs and images, 3D animation ultimately gained recognition and now becomes widely popular all over the globe.

3D Animation Software, which also means animation programs used in creating 3D computer-generated images, is the current and latest craze in the computer graphics industry. One of the most important aspects that make 3D animation advantageous is that it improves the design quality of an image because of its complete animated design as compared to 2D animated graphics. As such, 3D animation software earned the respect of expert animators, whose meticulous standards have been critically set. Hence, the demand from these animators has grown significantly year after year.

These days, 3D animation software or simply called animation programs has indeed gained popularity and also has proven its diverse uses most particularly in the graphics and design industry. On the other hand, the entertainment industry relies so much with the animated software. It gets the works of professionals such as the production designers, directors and other animation enthusiasts in the world of entertainment so easily, as they are able to conceptualize their respective designs efficiently. Indeed, animation has transformed the entertainment world so extensively. Recent studies have shown that animation is expected to reach an annual growth of about 30 per cent in the next three years.

On the other hand, it is important to know that choosing the right 3D animation software is not an easy thing to do especially that there are a lot of these in the market which offer same set of features. It is also imperative to know that the 3D animation software price mostly depends on its features and capabilities. To make sure that you are using the best software there is in the market, here are some important factors you need to consider:

                • Look for some 3D animation software that has features which can be easily understood, learned and used. This is a very important factor to consider since it is really very hard to have complicated features of the design at the very start of the study.
                 • Make sure that you get 3D software that complements your taste and the kind of work you are in to. Remember that there is a variety of this software so be careful in choosing that ones that will be efficient and practicable to the kind of profession you have. To be able to do this, make a careful evaluation and review of the 3D in the market prior to buying the software.
                  • Although you have chosen the ones that have simply and easy to understand features, it also needs proper handling and entails a little experience. Through this and continuous learning and constant practice, you will surely be an expert of this field.

Now that you already have the idea about 3D animation and its software, you can now enjoy the ultimate perks of technology. All it takes is your unending desire to learn and apply innovations to make your work even more effective.

Serenity

By: Zeus

I hear the gentle flow of waves; the sea reaches the shore…
And the sweet summer breeze shields my innermost soul.
I reflect beyond life, I see myself wander in paradise
I see golden hand reaching out, leading me towards serenity.
There I see a child’s smile, so sweet, so pure, and so bright
I realize, ahh….it’s mine, it’s mine!

And when the waves of the calm sea softly touched my feet
And when I finally smelled the sweet breeze of misty air
I told myself- life is love, unending gratitude.
As I opened my eyes, thoughts keep flashing back
I simply smile as I look back at the years gone by with no regrets.

The inner warmth shields me…
It lets me see the picture clearly-
Birds fly freely, flowers bloom over the sun-sweet-filled plains
While the gentle waves of the seas softly reach the shore
Now, it becomes even more clear- serenity, this is how life should be.

P.S: Thanks to the author of this poem for letting me post it on my blog. See you soon...

A Conversation

 Unknown

This article that I will share to you came from a facebook friend. I had fun reading it although its too long. But the story has a point and gives  value and moral lesson. Thanks for the author of this story.  Hope it will spread to everyone.

The conversation goes this way....

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?
Student : Yes.
Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?
(Student was silent.)
Professor: You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD good?
Student : Yes.
Professor: Is satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor: Where does satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor: So who created evil ?
(Student did not answer.)
Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, who created them ?
(Student had no answer.)
Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smell your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Professor: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?
Professor: Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.
(The lecture there after became very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is

Web Design Lesson

Basic Concepts

An introduction to domain names, web servers, and website hosting

I assume that you know nothing about the inner workings of the Internet; maybe you’re not even sure how people actually get to web sites, where the web sites are actually sitting, what the web is in the first place….

In this article I am going to give you the minimum you need to get your ‘feet wet’ so that we can quickly get into building web sites. I won’t go into painful micro-details that would put all but true nerds to sleep, again there is just enough so that you have a basic understanding of what’s going on.

What is the web?

In a nutshell, the web is a whole bunch of interconnected computers talking to one another. The computers (on the web) are typically connected by phone lines, digital satellite signals, cables, and other types of data-transfer mechanisms. A ‘data-transfer mechanism’ is a nerd’s way of saying: a way to move information from point A to point B to point C and so on.

The computers that make up the web can be connected all the time (24/7), or they can be connected only periodically. The computers that are connected all the time are typically called a ‘server’. Servers are computers just like the one you’re using now to read this article, with one major difference, they have a special software installed called ‘server’ software.\

What is the function of server software / programs?

Server software is created to ‘serve’ web pages and web sites. Basically, the server computer has a bunch of web sites loaded on it and it just waits for people (via web browsers) to request or ask for a particular page. When the browser requests a page the server sends it out.

How does the web surfer find a web site?

The short answer is: by typing in the URL, or in other words, the web site address. So for example, if you wanted to find the web site www.killersites.com, you would type in the address into your web browser’s address bar or maybe use your ‘favorites’ or ‘bookmarks’ link to Killersites.

There are other ways to find web sites (like search engines,) but behind the scenes web sites are all being found by going to the web site’s official address. That brings us our last nerd detail: how does a website get an official address so that the rest of the web can find it?

Registering your domain name

If you ever wondered what the heck registering a domain was all about … you probably figured it out by now! But just in case – registering a domain name gets you an official address for your web site on the World Wide Web. With this ‘official’ address, the rest of the web can find you.
Like your home address is unique in the real world, there also can’t be any duplicate addresses on the Internet, otherwise no one would know where to go! In other words, domain names are unique addresses on the web.

Why does registering a domain name cost money?

If you want to have your own unique address on the web, your own domain name, it will cost a few bucks for each year you want to ‘own’ the name. The cost of registering a domain name ranges from less than $10 USD to about $30 USD per year. You can register a domain from 1 to 10 years.

The reason for the cost is that the central ‘address book’ of all the world’s domain names needs to be updated – somebody’s got to pay for that! You may have noticed that I just snuck in a little extra piece of information: the giant ‘web address book’ of domains.

That leads us to our last bit of nerd information: when you type in a website’s domain name or click on a link that takes you to that domain name, your browser starts asking servers where that particular domain name is sitting (on the web) and the servers are then able to tell the browser where to go by referring to the giant address book I mentioned above.

How to rip Dynamic Flash Template

by: Baisan

What you need:

Sample dynamic flash template from TM website
Sothink SWF Decompiler
Macromedia Flash
Yourself

1. browse or search your favorite dynamic flash template in TM website. If you got one... click the "view" link and new window will open with dynamic flash.. loading...

2. If the movie fully loaded, click View -> Source in your browser to bring the source code of the current page and in the source code, search for "IFRAME" and you will see the iframe page. In this example were going to try the 7045 dynamic template. get the URL(ex.
http://images.templatemonster.com/screenshots/7000/7045.html) then paste it to your browser... easy eh? wait! dont be to excited... erase the .html and change it to swf then press enter then you'll see the flash movie again icon_smile.gif.

3. copy the URL and download that SWF file.. use your favorite download manager.. mine I used flashget icon_smile.gif NOTE: dont close the browser we may need that later on.

4. open your Sothink SWF decompiler... click "Quick Open" then browse where you download your SWF/movie file. Click Export FLA to export your SWF to FLA, in short, save it as FLA icon_smile.gif

5. Open your Macromedia FLash and open the saved FLA file. press Control+Enter or publish the file... then wallah! the output window will come up with "Error opening URL blah blah blah..." dont panic, that error will help you where to get the remaining files.

6. Copy the first error, example: "7045_main.html" then go back to your browser and replace the 7045.swf to 7045_main.html press enter and you'll see a lot of text... nonsense text icon_lol.gif that text are your contents...

NOTE: When you save the remaining files dont forget to save with underscore sign (_) in the front on the file without the TM item number (e.g. 7045) if it is html save it as "_main.html" and same with the image save it as "_works1.jpg" save them where you save the FLA and SWF files. Continue browsing the file inside Flash application so you can track the remaining files... do the same until you finish downloading all the remaining the files.
